Temporalis muscles

 

Steps for doing:


1. The coloured part is being stretched.

2. Wide open the mouth.

3. Pull downwards and backwards.

4. Chin tucked position.

5. Hold Head and neck in straight position.

1. This muscle plays important role in headache and toothache

2. Symptoms refer to teeth, jaw, head, eye, and neck region.

3. Symptoms may include pain, numbness, hypersensitivity, altered sensation, irritability and symptoms related to compression of adjacent blood vessels and nerves

4. Commonly related to disease such as temparomandibular disorders, various headaches, temporal arteritis, tendinitis and others

2. Wide open the mouth.

3. Pull downwards and backwards.

6. Hold the same position for 10-20 seconds without holding your breath

Lateral pterygoid muscle

Steps for doing:


1. The coloured part is being stretched.

2. Push the mandible to the oppstite side as shown.

3. Towards leftside for right side stretch.

4. Hold the same position for 10-20 seconds without holding your breath

3. Pull below and towards left side for right side stretch.
